The University of Baghdad held a central celebration on the occasion of Victory Day and the anniversary of the liberation of the areas occupied by the terrorist organization ISIS. The event was attended by Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, President of the University of Baghdad, the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, a number of deans, faculty members, and students from the university.
The celebration included a recorded speech by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, in which he said: “On Victory Day, we draw inspiration from our strength, pride, and a historic victory that will endure through generations of Iraqis, forever etched in their hearts, consciences, and identity. This homeland has men, martyrs, and sacrifices, with barriers of heroism that will tell the world every year that terrorism will have no place or path in our sacred land.”
During the event, the President of the University of Baghdad delivered a speech in which he emphasized the stance of Iraq during that time, with its people, army, security forces, and the Popular Mobilization Forces standing with dignity and pride. They stood against darkness to illuminate the path to freedom. This victory was not a gift or a coincidence, but the result of pure bloodshed, spilled to keep the national flag flying high. The martyrs, with their pure blood, wrote an epic that future generations will never forget, and the wounded, with their bodies bearing the scars, proved that sacrifice for the homeland is the highest form of loyalty.
The celebration also featured a variety of cultural and artistic activities, beginning with the playing of the Iraqi national anthem and speeches that praised the heroic efforts of the Iraqi security forces in the liberation battles.
