The University of Baghdad hosted a high-level delegation consisting of several presidents of Arab universities, headed by Prof.Dr. Atef Al-Kharamsheh, President of Al-Hussein Bin Talal University in Jordan. The meeting aimed to enhance Arab academic cooperation, and was attended by Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, President of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Suhail Najim Abdullah, Assisstant President for Scientific Affairs, and Prof.Dr. Inas Khalifa Al-Sharqi, Director of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations.
The Arab delegation, which included prominent academic figures from Arab universities, discussed ways to unify efforts to achieve educational integration, activate student exchange programs, and develop joint educational initiatives. They also touched upon the importance of modern technology and its role in building an educational system that meets global challenges.
In the meeting, the President of the University of Baghdad suggested the establishment of an open educational zone aimed at exchanging academic experiences and expanding higher education horizons to develop student competencies and promote collaborative scientific research. He highlighted the importance of this initiative.
Professor Ansaf emphasized the need to facilitate the transfer of faculty members between Arab universities to hold scientific conferences and invite Arab students to join the “Study in Iraq” initiative. The meeting also included discussions about signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Al-Hussein Bin Talal University in Jordan. Ansaf pointed out the importance of these initiatives in strengthening academic relations between Arab universities and providing an interactive educational environment that supports creativity and innovation.
The Arab university presidents expressed their happiness with this collaboration, praising the leading role of the University of Baghdad in the region, and expressed their readiness to provide the necessary support for the success of this ambitious project.
