The Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage at the University of Baghdad organized the sixth international conference entitled (History of Science among the Arabs), in the presence of the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Amir Faisal Abdul Amir, representing the President of the University, the Director of the Center, Dr. Alaa Nafie, and a number of researchers and academics participating in scientific research.
The conference aimed to link the Arab scientific heritage with contemporary practical reality, reveal the scientific innovations that characterized the Arabs in different eras, enhance scientific interaction between the university and state institutions, benefit from the research presented by researchers, and develop them to be research projects, as well as spread awareness of heritage among young people to preserve the cultural heritage and their pride in the past to be an incentive for them to build the future.
In his speech, the administrative assistant stressed the importance of these conferences because they are a pride, glorification and a reminder of the honorable past of Iraq as it was the first to invent writing and enact laws for the world, pointing out that Arab scientists are the basis and initiative of what we have reached at the present time in many scientific disciplines.
The conference also included much research that enriched the conference with scientific information and conveyed the image that resulted from creativity, excellence, and scientific production achieved by Arab and Muslim scientists and contributed to setting a clear vision for the future of this science throughout the various stages of history, and to identify the factors of its development and how it relates to modern sciences to benefit from it in the future.
