The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad achieved a significant scientific milestone with the publication of Dr. Huda Qanbar, a professor in the Department of Islamic Finance and Banking. Her research, titled “Academic Problems Among Iraqi University Professors: An Analytical Study,” was published in the Journal of Ecohumanism, a peer-reviewed academic journal indexed in the global Scopus database.
The study aims to identify the challenges faced by Iraqi university professors in their academic work and to highlight the key factors contributing to these issues. This journal is a prestigious platform for research in the field of humanities, and Dr. Qanbar’s publication in it serves as a testament to the quality and significance of her research, particularly as it comes from an Iraqi scholar working at one of Iraq’s most distinguished universities.
The study yielded significant findings, the most notable of which is the multiplicity of issues: The study revealed that university professors face a wide range of challenges, from deteriorating infrastructure to a lack of financial and administrative resources. Additionally, the impact of these issues on academic performance was highlighted. The results indicated that these problems negatively affect professors’ performance and hinder their ability to deliver high-quality educational outcomes.
The study emphasized the need for comprehensive solutions, underscoring the importance of addressing these issues through the development of plans and strategies aimed at advancing higher education in Iraq.
