The College of Education for Women, in collaboration with the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Department and the Research Enhancement Committee, organized a scientific workshop titled: “The Potential of Scientific Research in the Scopus Database and the Mechanism for Selecting Suitable Journals for Publication.” The workshop was presented by Prof.Dr. Ali Hussein Ali from the College of Engineering.

The objective of the workshop was to enhance the role of scientific research, guide how to search for journals with impact factors listed in Scopus and Clarivate databases, and explain the process of publishing in these databases. This is aimed at improving the academic standing of the college and, by extension, the university, as well as raising the ranking through publications in these databases.

The workshop resulted in a set of recommendations, the most important of which were: emphasizing the use of academic email for submitting research, relying on scientific journals classified in global databases to improve the quality of scientific research, and avoiding the use of third-party services for publishing in databases. Furthermore, it was stressed that research should be published specifically in Scopus-indexed databases.
