The College of Administration and Economics held a training workshop for graduate students on “Preparing Scientific Research.” The workshop was presented by Assist.Prof.Dr. Hakim Hamoud Faleh, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Economic and Administrative Sciences and faculty member in the Accounting Department, Dr. Youssef Aftan Abdullah, Technical Support Officer for the journal and faculty member in the Economics Department.
The workshop aimed to clarify the process of preparing scientific research according to the journal’s requirements. It included a presentation on the steps for drafting the research abstract, the necessary criteria for the introduction, how to organize previous studies, as well as how to prepare the methodology, present results, and discuss findings.
During the event, students were instructed on how to register on the journal’s website, submit their research, and handle feedback from reviewers. The session also covered how to respond to reviewers’ queries. Additionally, the training included guidance on registering for an ORCID account and using Mendeley, a reference management software endorsed by our journal and many international journals. It also taught students how to prepare research according to the requirements of journals indexed in global databases. It featured a Q&A segment where participants had the opportunity to address specific inquiries, which were answered by the workshop presenters.
It is noteworthy that Assist.Prof.Hakim Hamoud Faleh has achieved the highest citation index within the college, while Lecturer Youssef Aftan Abdullah holds the highest citation index in the Economics Department.
