The University of Baghdad concluded recently the UNESCO International Conference on the Future of Education and Vocational Training in Iraqi Universities and Vocational Schools, in cooperation with the European Union and UNESCO. The conference was attended by a robust academic presence and represented Iraqi technical universities, the Executive Director of the Higher Education Development Committee in the Office of the Prime Minister, representatives from the Kurdistan Region, and representatives from the European Union and UNESCO in Iraq.
In a statement, His Excellency Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, mentioned that the ministry’s institutions are confidently moving forward to keep pace with the changes in knowledge and the movement of technical skills by developing and enhancing educational policies and strategies that meet national needs and align with international trends in this field.
In turn, Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, President of the University of Baghdad, affirmed the university’s commitment to work in accordance with sustainable development visions related to technical and vocational education and training, as well as UNESCO’s strategy for training, education, and development of pathways and strategic directions in education and training in Iraq.
