The University of Baghdad, in cooperation with the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control in the Ministry of Planning, held a conference on intellectual property rights and sustainable development, to support the movement of innovation, creativity, and innovative new solutions, in the presence of Dr. Hussein Ali Dawood, President of the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control, Prof. Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, President of the University of Baghdad, and Prof. Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs.
The President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, said that the issue of legal protection of intellectual property is of great importance because it depends largely on the creative intellectual production provided by its citizens with creative minds in various scientific fields, pointing out that the University of Baghdad is working to establish a center specialized in intellectual property rights and sustainable development through which it encourages intellectual production in accordance with international standards.
For his part, the head of the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control in the Ministry of Planning, Dr. Hussein Ali Dawood, said that the Ministry of Planning chose the University of Baghdad to host the Conference on Intellectual Property Rights and Sustainable Development because of the great scientific status provided by the mother of universities of intellectual products and patents.
