The Website Division, at the Presidency of the University of Baghdad, in collaboration with the Computer Center, organized a workshop titled “The Digital Repository of the University of Baghdad: Procedures and Management” at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. The event was attended by Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, the President of the University of Baghdad, along with several Vice Deans for Scientific Affairs, department heads, academic staff, and a group of specialized researchers.
The workshop highlighted aspects such as inclusion, archiving, descriptive data, and files, as well as how to archive them. It also clarified the role of teaching in the digital repository and the role of the technical administrator. Furthermore, the workshop addressed the number of registered users on the site, the number of indexed researches, and scientific and research information for researchers. It discussed ways to increase citations for research and journals, facilitate access to researchers by specialty, improve the visibility of scientific results, and provide statistical data for scientific outputs.
The activity concluded with a set of recommendations, including the necessity for all faculty members and researchers at the university to register in the digital repository, as well as to enroll scientific and research information specific to the faculty and analyze the data.
