The team from the University of Baghdad achieved first place in the athletics competition for Iraqi universities, held at the University of Sulaimaniyah with the participation of numerous university teams from across Iraqi provinces. Dr. Ali Sadeq, Director of the Student Activities Department at the University of Baghdad and head of the participating delegation, stated that this victory represents a deserved achievement for the young team from the University of Baghdad due to their great technical and physical efforts during the championship. He expressed his hope that achieving first place would serve as a goal for other students in their academic and scientific pursuits, as well as in all other sports activities.
The Student Activities Department at the University of Baghdad aims to identify the potentials and talents possessed by students, nurturing and developing them to place them in the appropriate environment that enhances and strengthens their academic personalities and mental capabilities through their participation in forums and festivals held within and outside Iraq.
The achievement of the first place by the University of Baghdad in the Iraqi Universities Championship is unprecedented, resulting from significant efforts to develop students’ skills by the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Bahaa Ibraheem Ansaf, and the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Prof.Dr. Amir Faisal Abdul Amir, along with the continuous supervision of the Student Activities Department at the university.
