Assistant Professor Dr. Amir Faisal Abdul Amir, Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, representing the Rector of the University of Baghdad, attended the opening of the Sustainable Tourist Villages Conference, which was held in cooperation between the Tourism Authority and the Ministry of Environment, in the presence of the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Ahmed Al-Badrani, the Advisor to the Prime Minister for Environment and Climate Affairs, Dr. Ali Abdul Zahra, and a number of deputies, undersecretaries, general managers and directors of relevant companies and institutions.

The conference stressed the unification of efforts in the public and private sectors to achieve success in containing the climate change crisis as a serious challenge facing humanity, the idea of establishing sustainable villages and cities to preserve the environment and provide investment opportunities, and the existence of a different and serious vision and future plans to address climate change.

It is noteworthy that the conference lasts for two days and discusses several topics such as economy, environment, and energy, as well as tourism in order to encourage tourism investment.
