After intensive meetings hosted by the University of Baghdad three months ago with the Iranian University of Tabriz, a memorandum of understanding was signed recently between the two universities in the Iranian city of Mashhad, a following meeting was held between the two universities during the Iraqi-Iranian Science Week, reaching a consensus on the final clauses of the memorandum of understanding.
The agreement was signed by the Rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof.Dr. Munir Hameed Al-Saadi, and the Rector of Tabriz University.The MOU represents a general framework of understanding for the establishment of research partnerships, joint supervision of postgraduate students, and the participation of faculty members in journal editorial boards.
It is worth noting, that the University of Tabriz holds a position in the Shanghai rankings, particularly excelling in water resources engineering, food science, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, and energy engineering. This MOU is a significant step in strengthening academic cooperation between the two countries and will benefit students, professors, and researchers from both institutions.
