The Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Amir Faisal Abdul Amir, representing the Rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid Al-Saadi, attended the conference organized by the National Committee for Arms Regulation under the title (Preparatory Stages for Registering Weapons and Combating Armed Violence) at the headquarters of the Ministry of Interior, in the presence of Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, Undersecretary for Police Affairs and a number of commanders and officers, in addition to the presidents of Iraqi public and private universities and deans of faculties of law.
This conference came with the aim of raising awareness, education, and briefing the scientific staff with the procedures of the Ministry of Interior in this regard, as the Minister of Interior stressed in his speech during the conference the importance of limiting weapons to the state, stressing at the same time the need for the cooperation of all societal groups, including intellectuals, academics, tribal sheiks to achieve this goal.
Dr. Amir Faisal, Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, also stressed the readiness of the University of Baghdad to contribute to this national project through advertising and education by holding workshops and seminars for our employees and students in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, to introduce the importance of restricting weapons to the state in order to preserve the stability of the country and contribute seriously to the use of modern methods of detecting weapons.
