The Department of International Community Research at the Center of Women’s Studies at the University of Baghdad, in cooperation with the Seed of Hope Network for Community Peace, held a scientific symposium entitled (Satisfying the Needs of Women Affected by Wars According to International Perspective) at the Peace Hall ,at the College of Mass Communication, in the presence of the Director of the Center of Women’s Studies, Dr. Azra Ismail, a representative of the Prime Minister, representatives of the judiciary and the legislature and the Ministry of Interior.

The workshop focused on women’s security and facing challenges in accordance with international law, international organizations, and their activity in empowering women victims of ISIS and protecting them from armed conflicts, the most prominent challenges faced by Iraqi women during wars and their human rights after armed conflicts, and the impact of wars on the labor market for women and peace building.

The workshop concluded by honoring the lecturers with the university’s shield and distributing certificates of appreciation to the attendees, who expressed their happiness, gratitude, and high praise to the University of Baghdad for this distinguished effort.
