Within the endeavors of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to develop cultural cooperation with accredited universities around the world, Prof.Dr.Munir Al-Saadi, the Rector of the University of Baghdad, has received the Director of the Oxford Center for Islamic Studies Mr.Farhan Ahmad Nizami and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting was attended by the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences,Prof.Dr. Nima Dahash Farhan, the Director of the Center for Women’s Studies, Dr. Azraa Ismail Zaidan,and Assist.Prof.Dr. Omar Faleh Hassan, the Director of the Department of Quality Assurance and Academic Performance, was dedicated to develop the ways of mutual academic cooperation between the two universities, especially in the field of Islamic studies, were discussed. In his speech Al-Saadi mentioned that the University of Baghdad has cooperated with British cultural and scientific institutions such as the British Council. He added that our University is seeking to host a number of professors from Oxford University to supervise some postgraduate students at the Baghdad University.

Moreover,  the aim of the visit is to make quantitative and qualitative changes in the scientific and cultural movement in Iraq, as the data of global publication and the results of international rankings of Iraqi universities in general and the University of Baghdad in particular are in advanced stages and have some international accreditations.
