Recently, the University of Baghdad has held a cultural students debate with the University of Technology, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Scientific Research Affairs, Dr. Haidar Abd Dhahad, the rector of the University of Baghdad, prof.Dr.Munir Al-Saadi, the rector of the University of Technology,prof.Dr. Ahmed Al-Ghabban, the dean of Al-Khwarizmi College Engineering,and a huge number of professors and students.
At the outset of the debate, that was held between the students of the College of Engineering Al-Khwarizmi, University of Baghdad and the students of the College of Engineering, University of Technology, to develop the students’ knowledge and scientific skills in their field of specialization Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, affirmed through his speech that the ministry is working to achieve the academic higher education goals and to provide the community’s need to prevent wasting academic energies.
During the course of the event, the spirit of scientific competition and the mutual exchange of information between the students of the two universities prevailed. It ended with winning of the University of Baghdad with (10) marks compared to (9) for the University of Technology. At the end of the event, prizes were distributed to the two winning teams.
It is worth noting that these scientific and cultural activities are important in highlighting the university student’s ability to dialogue and knowledge, and to create an element of competition among students, which achieve further upgrading of the scientific level.
