The College of Languages at the University of Baghdad opened the activities of its 10th scientific conference, under the title (Languages are a communicative message and a cognitive identity). The conference began its activities with the launch of its scientific sessions with research that included various scientific topics, as well as the opening of an exhibition of painted pictures prepared by the Student Activities Division at the college. The first day witnessed the participation of fifty-eight researchers, including researchers from the Russia, Prof. Dr. Irina Sergeevna Klimas and Prof. Dr. Sergey Pavlovich Pravednikov who participated in the research entitled (Promising Means and Trends in the Study of the Russian Folklore Language). In addition, the Italian researcher, Prof. Dr. Giuseppe Maugere participated in the research entitled (Efficiency Review Multicultural in the Foreign Language class). The researchers discussed various scientific topics, including language, literature, and translation into various languages, and the sessions concluded with the distribution of certificates of participation to all researchers, directors, and rapporteurs of the sessions.

On the second day, the opening was with the national anthem, followed by a welcoming speech in different languages by the students to attendees and participants. Prof.Dr. Ahlam, a professor at the University of Mustafa Stambouli Mascara Algeria, participated during the conference with the research via the Zoom application, as well as two sessions in which eleven diverse scientific researches were discussed.  The session concluded with granting certificates of participation to researchers, moderators, and rapporteurs of the sessions.

On the sidelines of the concluding activities of the 10th scientific conference, the scientific committee supervising the conference offered a set of recommendations, the most important of which is to make this scientific conference periodic annually as a result of its success, as well as hold international conferences specialized in linguistic, literary and translation sciences in order to encourage scientific research, deepening the exchange of scientific views and including cultural aspects related to language in the curricula to ensure adequate access to them by learners, researchers, and translators. To open the prospects of cooperation with cultural research centers that are interested in translation in order to adapt efforts in achieving communication between different cultures and paying attention to the mother tongue of the learner, researcher and translator to empower the establishment of their cognitive identity when transferring between different cultures and also when translating from and to the mother tongue. The committee also recommended paying attention to human dialogue and encouraging learners, researchers and translators to conduct studies and linguistic, literary and translation researches relevant to the dialogue and communication between civilizations.
