The University of Baghdad Council held its weekly meeting to discuss a number of issues and matters presided over by the rector, Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi and in the presence of the deans of all colleges, as well as directors of postgraduate institutions and research & service centers. The council approved the reduction of tuition fees for humanitarian cases by 10% of the total annual wages, as well as the extension of the service of some distinguished professors for the urgent need for their services in various scientific disciplines, in addition to addressing the cases of postgraduate students.

Then the rector gave a presentation submitted by the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance regarding published research within the Scopus database in Q1 & Q2 and stating that published research in international rankings are still few in number. The members also focused on updating curricula specified for postgraduate studies. At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Munir al-Saadi honored a number of professors for their scientific products for the academic year 2022 in terms of published research and patents in addition to discussing the mechanism of cooperation between the University of Baghdad and state departments, including the Ministry of Oil.
