Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, the rector of the University of Baghdad has recently presided over the eleventh weekly meeting of the university’s council so as to discuss a number of scientific issues and administrative matters in detail and in the presence of the deans of all colleges, as well as directors of postgraduate institutions and research & service centers. The rector continued emphasis on publishing research in sober international journals, especially in Q1 and Q2 index of Scopus for their impact on the university’s position in international rankings.
Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi also directed to follow-up the work towards gaining access for the university’s journals in international repositories to increase citations of faculty members in various disciplines and directing the dean of all faculties to follow up the completion of scientific research plans for the current academic year, besides the need to conduct guidance courses for postgraduate students on how to write research papers and directing to organize scientific conferences with sober academic bodies.
