The Department of Biotechnology, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science has organized a lecture entitled “Monkeypox: its dangers to human health” delivered by Assist. Prof. Dr. Aida Hussein Ibrahim and Dr. Muhanad Salam Majeed, in the presence of a number of students, researchers and those concerned with medical affairs. The lecturers aimed to educate the public on this viral disease and its most important causes, symptoms and ways of transmission from animals to human beings, as well as focusing on its risks to human health, addressing ways to prevent infection, as it is one of the endemic diseases in African countries, which is a source of danger to all humanity, especially since its outbreak in May 2022  caused by the monkeypox virus.
