The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, in cooperation with the Ibn Sina Unit at the College of Pharmacy has held an electronic workshop entitled (The Phenomenon of Bullying in Universities: Its Causes and Treatment) delivered by Prof. Dr. Thuraya Ali Hussein and Prof. Dr. Sawsan Abdul Ali from the Department of Psychology at the College of Arts. The lecturers discussed at first the concept of bullying with a presentation of a number of university studies for getting some statistics on some important indicators in the phenomenon of university and academic bullying, as well as its types and manifestations of bullying, including the verbal phase which is more common and the social and physical types.

Also they gave an ethnic, racial and phenotypic background of cyber and academic bullying, refereeing to jealousy among university students and the extension of school bullying are among the most prominent reasons for bullying among university students, as well as the effects of bullying on the psychological and physical health and behaviors of the university student, whether the student has been a victim of bullying or is a bully, in addition to hints on how to deal with this behavior.
