The students of the second grade at the Department of Chemical Engineering has organized a symposium on the role of youth updating the reality of human rights in Iraq as a step towards a better future for the Iraqi people, under the supervision of Dr. Ghusoon Abdul Mohammed.

The proceedings of this event included several topics, including the definition of human rights in general, why a person demands his rights, how to obtain them, the negatives of unemployment and how it affects society, as unemployment is a factor that negatively affects society and the individual’s personality, life and psychology, the importance of the family and its presence in society, how it affects the life of the individual, respect and gentle dealing between individuals within the family and its positives in a psychologically comfortable life for a person. Then she talked about illiteracy as being a negative social phenomenon witnessed in any society and that affects the individual and his/her confidence in oneself and that leads to the inability of the individual to keep pace with his/her peers especially in important areas of life such as reading and writing, adding that education is a basic and a very important factor in society and so our students may seize prospective opportunities.
