The Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Division at the College of Engineering, in cooperation with members of the Iraqi Council for Accreditation of Engineering Education, have sponsored a symposium on the application of national standards for the accreditation of engineering education programs in Iraq. Three lectures were given by a number of members of the Iraqi Council for Accreditation of Engineering Education.

The symposium aims to study the initiation of actual work to build correct steps in program accreditation through the active participation of everyone from leaders, teachers, technicians, administrators and students to contribute and take responsibility, each according to his specialization in the type of participation to reach program accreditation. The symposium dealt with measuring and evaluating graduate outcomes by Prof. Dr. Jalal Muhammad Khalil, and the results-based education and accreditation standards by Assist. Prof. Dr. Ali Naji Al-Attiyah. The workshop included extensive discussions and a set of important questions and inquiries required to achieve the completion of the requirements for achieving the ambition required to advance more reality and to achieve the pivotal and transformational aspects in the preparation of individuals, whether they are professors or employees, and the preparation of the appropriate graduates to keep pace with the current labor market in the engineering industry.
