The College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad held a specialized scientific symposium at the Department of Energy Engineering entitled (Energy Challenges in Iraq and Fusion Nuclear Energy: Future Prospects in Iraq). The lecturers stressed on the principle of joint cooperation between the college and state ministries to discuss the reality of energy in Iraq and discuss ways to improve scientific research and energy efficiency in Iraq.
It was attended by many officials, researchers, academics, specialists and those interested in this topic, including the assistant dean for administrative affairs, Assist. Prof. Dr. Karim Hassan Ali, the President of the Iraqi Commission for the Control of Radioactive Sources, as well as a number of the students at the department. It included several lectures, including a lecture on electrical energy in Iraq delivered by Assist. Prof. Shaima Alaa Al-Din Mahdi from the Department of Energy Engineering, two lectures from the students of the second grade at the department, and a lecture by the representative of the Iraqi Authority for the Control of Radioactive Sources in Iraq by Akram Abdul Amir in commitment to the directives towards community service and cooperation between state institutions and in light of the state’s orientation to provide the requirements for the advancement and continuity of electrical energy, so solutions must be found to address the crisis of electricity and ensure the provision of safe, stable and durable service to the consumer of a high quality.
