The Department of Sociology at the College of Education for Women has organized recently a workshop on silence towards violence that was presented by Assist. Lecturer Hiba Abdul Mohsen Abdul Karim from the Department of Empowerment Research and Capacity Building at the Center for Women’s Studies on the sidelines of the (16) days campaign to combat violence against women.
The workshop aimed to introduce the most prominent forms of violence and discrimination on the basis of gender and the need to educate girls about the manifestations of violence and the risk they face in society and encourage them not to remain silent in the event of any form of violence and from any person, regardless of the degree of his kinship with it, because silence towards violence and not holding the perpetrators accountable is an encouragement to spread it in community.
