The Center for Strategic and International Studies at the University of Baghdad has organized its Twenty-First Annual Scientific Conference entitled (The Regional and International Competition in the Middle East) in the presence of the rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid Al-Saadi.
The conference witnessed the presentation of more than twenty-five researches focused on regional and international competition and its impact on the reality of the Middle East in general and the security situation on Iraq in particular, because of its accumulation of oil resources and minerals and the region’s important geopolitical position, since it is a corridor for transport routes, communications and transportation of oil, thus it falls within the interests of competing regional and international countries. It is noteworthy that the conference came in order to come up with certain recommendations to Iraqi decision-makers regarding how to deal in foreign policy with these countries that use all means for their interests.
