The Center for Continuing Education at the University of Baghdad has recently organized a scientific workshop entitled: (Managing children’s activities on smartphones and social networks) that witnessed the participation of many research papers, including those related to (Children’s addiction to smart devices between reality and hope) delivered by Assist. Prof. Dr. Suzan Abdullah Mohammed and the Lecturer Hind Loay Abdul Hamid from the College of Education for Women. The second workshop discussed the subject of (Applications of managing children’s phones and combating addiction) delivered by Assist. Lecturer Mohammed Adel Abbas who is a certified trainer at the Center for Development and Continuing Education.

The scientific workshop concluded with a set of recommendations, including the need to adopt applied programs to protect children from videos, programs, advertisements and even cartoon films of a violent nature, under the supervision of parents, as well as activating the supervisory role of state agencies and departments related to the work and activity of satellite channels, social media and preventing what harms children intellectually and behaviorally, in order to create an educated, conscious, active and sound generation intellectually and behaviorally away from extremism, terrorism, anomalies, psychological and physical diseases, as well as educating parents about their role in upbringing children and supervising the use of smartphones, laptops and computers, and teaching children the purpose of owning these devices and how to benefit from them on the positive and constructive side.
