The workshop aimed to identify this phenomenon and the reasons for its spread among university students, and the most prominent factors that push students to turn to drugs were reviewed, as well as the psychological, social, economic and security reasons for drug abuse, and the workshop touched on the role of the university in preventive awareness of the dangers of drugs and addiction to them.

The director of the continuing education unit, the lecturer Aida Abdul Karim Saleh, explained that the development and technological progress led to the emergence of new habits and behaviors within the community, where many problems appeared that harmed individuals and societies, and the most important of these problems is drug abuse and thus addiction to it by all age groups of both sexes, specifically the rush of some young people to try it and surrender to it, and Dr. Noor Saadi Issa and assistant teacher Bida Jabbar Mohammed participated in the workshop. The workshop reached a number of recommendations, including the university’s awareness campaigns to prevent students’ drug abuse and the establishment of awareness campaigns for mothers.
