Assist. Prof. Khalida Hamed Tisgam, a faculty member from the department of English language at the college of education for women has translated the book entitled (Painful Creeds) published by Metonymy Kinaya Books in London. The book deals with the rich poetic works of the poet Ahmed Abdul Hussein who was a poet and a journalist born in Baghdad through reviewing his poetic texts which extend over a long period of time since the eighties until the present time.
The book consisted of an introduction that dealt with the most prominent poetic features and the poet’s biography as well as a number of critical paragraphs about the book written by the former Minister of Culture, Dr. Hassan Nazim. It should be noted that Ms. Khalida Hamed has translated more than eighteen books issued by international and Arab publishing houses, in addition to dozens of articles and cultural studies published in the most important Iraqi and Arab cultural newspapers and magazines.
