The University of Baghdad held a celebration on the occasion of the anniversary of the declaration of victory over the terrorist organization Daesh, in the presence of the rector of the university, Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, and a number of students, professors and guests.
During his opening speech, the rector expressed his pride and gratitude for our heroes who have sacrificed their lives in the battlefield to liberate their land and nation being the martyrs and leaders of victory so as we can live in dignity and peace, so that the who Iraqi people and the youth and students should celebrate this happy anniversary through the reconstruction of liberated areas. The celebration included the establishment of a fine art exhibition, dealing with a traditional and Baghdadi image, perpetuating the heroism of Iraqis in liberating their cities and defeating their enemies, reciting many poems and national songs that express joy on this occasion, as well as national musical music, organizing volleyball matches between male and female students of the faculties of education, languages, engineering and education for pure sciences (Ibn Al-Haitham), and distributing trophy cups by the dean of the college among the winning teams.
