The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering has organized an applied scientific visit for the students of the fifth grade to Sheikh Ahmed Al-Waeli Hospital in Karbala within its deliberate future plans for preparing engineering cadres to the labor market and health sectors.
The visit aimed to introduce students to medical devices and the way they work and maintain them, modern scientific laboratories, lobbies and departments in the hospital, as this hospital is one of the best of its kind in Iraq considered as an advanced edifice with a capacity of 200 beds provided by the threshold of Imam Hussein (PBUH) in accordance with the approved standards and regulations for hospitals with international specifications and the latest medical devices and technologies imported from international companies. It is noteworthy that the goal of building this hospital was to provide the best medical services to citizens and contribute to eliminating the idea of travelers going abroad for treatment, including MRI devices, X-ray and Sonar devices, Endoscope & Tumor operations devices for diagnosis, as well as a premature babies room including the latest imaging devices and incubators.
