The College of Nursing at the University of Baghdad has organized a workshop for the students of Zarqa Al-Yamamah School entitled (Hand Washing and Personal Hygiene), in the presence of teachers and pupils, aimed to teach students how to wash teeth and hands correctly and the importance of maintaining oral and dental health to prevent infections.
The workshop also included several topics, including a presentation to students about washing teeth in the right way to preserve them from decay and damage, and providing tips on avoiding eating foods harmful to dental health, including sweets and soft drinks, which in turn affect the structure of the teeth and lead to damage, as well as a second theatrical work on how to wash hands with the right steps, which in turn act as a barrier against infection and germs and prevent their entry into the body by professors as well as health awareness leaflets on how to clean teeth and wash hands. The researchers in the workshop called for the need to preserve the teeth to avoid oral and digestive diseases and must clean the teeth daily before and after each meal, as well as washing hands before and after any work done by the person because it is the immune shield against the entry of infectious germs into the human body.
