Assist. Prof. Dr. Ali Hussein Ali Qaddouri, the head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering, has recently organized scientific research cooperation agreement with the French University of Lyon (Université de Lyon) during his visit, for the sake of extending bridges of academic and cultural communication initiatives with reputable international universities as well as to support of exchange of scientific expertise within the visiting professor program designed to provide a funding pool to support visiting faculty and scholars.
The aim of his visit is to conduct a research cooperation program with the Acoustics Center in the field of acoustics of medical engineering. Dr. Ali Hussein kept abreast with an exhibition of scientific products made by a series of participating international companies and research projects of graduates at the college, in addition to a visit to the Departments of Audio Engineering, Sensor Engineering and the Embedded Systems. On the sidelines of this visit, a scientific lecture was given on brain and muscle signals along with a practical application. Also experiments were conducted in the acoustics laboratory to record the sound signals of the muscles and the similarity of the forces between the hand and the sound signals of the muscles, and a system was built to build sound magnification bases using the three-dimensional printer in the design of a bracelet installed in the hand to record the sound signals of the muscles where the experiments were conducted on 6 individuals so as to analyze their data and reach at significant results.
