Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, the rector of the University of Baghdad, has recently participated in the ceremony held for honoring the talented and creative students and professors of the college of science in the presence of the dean of the college, Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim al-Qazzaz, after their participation in the Fourth Exhibition of Patents and Industrial Designs sponsored by the Industrial Research and Development Authority in cooperation with the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control (COSQC) and the Iraqi Federation of Industries (IFI).

During his speech, the rector praised the sincere efforts exerted by the faculty member and students of science who sought to develop their talents for contributing in the country’s level in knowledge and openness to others members of academic institutions, stressing that the university has a great interest in scientific research, pioneering research projects and patents, as well as pointing at the same time to the orientation of the state and the ministry of higher education and scientific research towards providing support for inventors and innovators in service of our community.

It is noteworthy that the college of science had received gold medals from the International Federation of Inventors Associations in Geneva, where the dean of the college, Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim al-Qazzaz, presented certificates of appreciation to the students of the department of physics, as well as a number of professors from the departments of physics, astronomy, space, biology and remote sensing who have participated in the aforementioned exhibition and the Third International Scout Conference held in Istanbul, Turkey, which was headed by Prof. Tariq al-Omran who is faculty member from the department of physics.
