Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, the rector of the University of Baghdad, has participated in the ceremonies honoring the talented and creative students and professors of the college of science in the presence of the dean of the college, Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim al-Qazzaz, after their participation in the Fourth Exhibition of Patents and Industrial Designs, which was held by the Industrial Research and Development Authority in cooperation with the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control (COSQC) and the Iraqi Federation of Industries (IFI).
During his speech, the rector praised the scientific performance of faculty members and students of the college of science and stated that “The countries of the world seek to develop their country scientifically and industrially through creativity and openness in all fields, so our pride is great when these talented creative and innovative university staff have a long distinguished history in this field”, adding that “the university has a great interest in scientific research, pioneering research projects and patents, pointing at the same time to the orientation of the state and the ministry of higher education and scientific research towards supporting the inventors to serve the community.
It is noteworthy that the college of science had received golden medals from the IFIA International Federation of Inventors’ Associations in Geneva, during ceremonies honoring the dean of the college, Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim al-Qazzaz, as well as dedicating certificates of appreciation to the students of the department of physics, and a number of professors from the departments of physics, astronomy & space, biology and remote sensing who have supervised a series of the projects presented in the aforementioned exhibition and the Third World Conference of Scientific Poster Scouts held in Istanbul, Turkey, which was headed by Prof. Tariq al-Omran from the department of physics.
