The Department of Petroleum Engineering at the College of Engineering has organized a symposium for the students of the second grade on the importance of summer training sponsored by national and foreign companies operating in Iraq. The symposium was initiated with a speech delivered by the Head of the Petroleum Engineering Department, Dr. Ghanim Madih Farman, about the importance of summer training as part of the requirements for obtaining a bachelor’s degree.
A group of fourth stage students also participated in this presentation, where both the student Mustafa Adeed Abboud and Yahya Raad Kazem talked about their experience in training at the Schlumberger International Oil Company. The students Farouk Ragheed Shaker and Osama Abdul Sattar Khairy talked about their experience when training at BP British Multinational Oil and Gas Company, which operates within the Rumaila Operating Organization (ROO) in Basra. At the end of this event, the head of the Petroleum Engineering Department, Dr. Ghanim Madeeh Farman, dedicated certificates of appreciation to the students participating in acknowledgement of their efforts.
