Prof. Dr. Israa Fouad, a faculty member from the Individual Games Branch at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Women, held a scientific symposium on the students of the undergraduate studies entitled (E-learning in light of the Corona pandemic: challenges, obstacles, pros and cons). Dr. Esraa explained how e-learning emerged in light of the Coronavirus pandemic, that has become a form of distance education, which canceled traditional classes and replaced them with virtual classes, and due to the non-acceptance of the idea of transformation, so it resulted in blended learning adopted at the university education level.
She then pointed to the advantages of flexibility in learning, the possibility of direct communication with the teacher, saving time, effort and money, reducing tuition costs than usual, obtaining more distance learning opportunities, opening wide horizons for students who cannot complete their education for multiple reasons and circumstances, gaining more technological skills. Also referring to its disadvantages represented by a lack of social interaction, a low level of personal skills, the employer’s questioning of the credibility of education, the occurrence of problems related to the internet and the lack of efficiency of faculty members and students as well in this regard. Dr. Esraa Fouad concluded her presentation with a set of recommendations, the most important of which is the need to deliver information to the audience under any emergency or crisis that a person may go through, and he must turn its negative aspects into positive, e-learning has become an indispensable necessity, urging participation in training courses and workshops for the purpose of developing our own capabilities.
