Assistant Prof. Dr. Saba Numan Rashid, a lecturer from the Public Law Branch at the College of Law has participated in the International Labor Organization conference entitled (Social Security Systems in Private and Public Sectors and Labor Protection), which was held at the American University. The conference discussed researches according to scientific disciplines, which included legal research, arbitrariness and discrimination on the basis of sex, social research, as well as economic research.
The conference aimed to discuss matters essential to the Iraqi social security systems, especially those applied in accordance with the Retirement and Social Security Law, by dividing them according to the risks and benefits obtained by the worker in the event that the required conditions are met and the transition to international rules in the ILO Convention and the extent to which the law in force conforms to these rules in which the draft security law is studied, which revolves around most of the organizations’ discussions with the legal department at the present time. For her part, Prof. Dr. Saba Numan presented a research paper entitled (social security benefits in accordance with the Iraqi law and international rules: a developmental vision) in which she presented some recommendations on the overall legal system applied in Iraq and others to be legislated.
