The Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnologies for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad held recently its 5th International Scientific Conference, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, and in the presence of the rector of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Al-Saadi as well as a number of academic figures.
The conference was held under the slogan (Genetic Engineering: a Witnessing Present and a Promising Future) with the aim to review and shed light on some scientific outputs and patents presented by Iraqi professors in addition to the mechanisms of cooperation between the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnologies for Postgraduate Studies and other relevant state institutions. During his speech, Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi expressed his hope to invest the scientific outputs of the institute in an optimal manner through mutual coordination with the relevant state institutions, stressing the university’s keenness to support the scientific research process. It is noteworthy that the conference included reciting poems about our lovely country by the Iraqi poet “Yahya Al-Alaq”, as well as a video presentation about the institute’s scientific and administrative activities with an overview about its establishment.
