The National Center for Population and Demographic Studies at the University of Baghdad held a workshop entitled “The Mechanism of Writing and Publishing Research in Scientific Journals” delivered by the lecturer from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Al-Khwarizmi College of Engineering, Dr. Ali Hussein Ali, at the central hall of the college, in the presence of the Director of the Center for Population and Demographic Studies, Dr. Nasr Shamil Salman and a number of professors. The workshop aimed to introduce researchers and academics to the mechanism of writing scientific research papers for international journals and the most important basic points focused on by the editorial board that is consisting of the editor-in-chief, an expert editor and the scientific reviewers.
The workshop dealt with the most important factors that help in accepting the research submitted to be published by the journals included in the international repositories, the mechanism for reviewing them as well as the most sober publishing houses in this regard, especially those listed in Scopus database and how to avoid predatory journals. The workshop stressed the importance of taking care of the mastery of the English language when writing academic studies for scientific purposes as possible, in addition to writing titles and conclusions of scientific researches in a focused and intensive manner.
