The College of Education for Women at the University of Baghdad has announced the launch of its eighth annual festival of the Great Fatima Al-Zahra (peace be upon her) at Al-Mustafa Hall, under the direct supervision of the rector, Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi and the follow-up of the dean of the college, Assist. Prof. Dr. Athmar Shaker Majeed al-Shatri, in the presence of a number of religious, security and academic figures and university students.
It is noteworthy that this new edition of the festival was full of distinctive activities and events, including the participation of the Abbasid Holy Shrine with a song entitled (Melody of the Fathers), recitation of poems, presentation of a series of religious researches, cultural competitions among the students, opening of a book exhibition sponsored by the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Abbasid Holy Shrine, as well as some photographs submitted by the employees of Al-Kafeel Museum for Valuables and Manuscripts, also the contribution of Al-Kafeel Boys’ Cultural Stations for Iraqi University Students such as: the Youth Development Station, E-Learning Station and First Aid Skills Training Station with the participation of the Department of Growth and Sustainable Development.
The festival included a theatrical performance organized by the students of the College of Fine Arts entitled (Al-Kawthar) so as to embody the role of this great figure (peace be upon her) in building the family, society, values and principles alike. During his speech, the rector of the University of Baghdad thanked and appreciated all the efforts exerted by the Abbasid Holy Shrine for choosing our university and this college for holding this festival, pointing out that in the biography of the Great Lady Fatima Al-Zahra (PBUH) we are inspired by her esteemed values and morals that if we commit to, we guarantee the prosperity of our generations and community.
