Assistant Professor Dr. Walid Ibrahim and Dr. Duraid Abdul Salam from the Department of Astronomy and Space at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, along with the contribution of the master’s student from the Department of Physics, Aseel Kamel, have obtained a patent entitled “Design and construction of a low pressure gauge using sound frequencies” after fulfillment of the requirements for obtaining it from the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control (COSQC).
It is noteworthy that the manufacturing of this device is considered as a new global technology in the field of low pressure gauges and it is a unique idea at the global level based upon global technical standards, and it is linked to the plasma generation system, which can be used with vacuum systems designed to generate plasma, since sound can travel in air and does not move in the vacuum because for there is no medium, while sound energy is transmitted in air due to the collision between the molecules of the medium and because of this difference in the transmission process, this device was invented.
