The Women’s Empowerment Unit at the College of Education for Humanities (Ibn Rushd) at the University of Baghdad has recently organized a scientific symposium entitled (Psychological Pressures encountered by Working Women) that was headed by Assist. Prof. Dr. Shaimaa Abdul Aziz and Assist. Prof. Dr. Ghada Ali Hadi. The workshop aimed to shed light on the mechanisms of relieving psychological stress for women, and also included the definition of psychological pressures, influencing factors, types, causes and effects that are resulting from.

The lecturers stressed during their speech that the role played by working and productive women is the cornerstone of the progress of communities, even if they are exposed to various psychological pressures that may hinder their activities and superiority because they negatively affect their production and professional efficiency, indicating that the success of working women in performing their family and professional duties is dependent on the achievement of their intellectual comfort and mental and physical health. In conclusion, the symposium recommended conducting workshops and courses on how to alleviate psychological stress faced by working women.
