Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, the rector of the University of Baghdad, chaired the delegation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to the Italian University of Siena, within the program sponsored by INSPIRE Programme under the slogan (Innovative Governance Practices for Higher Education Institutions in Iraq).
The project aims to strengthen the capacities of higher education institutions in the country for the sake of developing their own strategy, strengthening the management of international relations within higher education institutions, improving participation in the strategic planning of non-university actors, introducing performance evaluation and quality assurance mechanisms, as well as establishing a clear governance framework and developing relations with unrelated parties. It is noteworthy that the project’s proceedings of the University of Baghdad were attended by Dr. Omar Faleh Hassan, Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department, and Dr. Sudad Amer Dayel, Director of the Cultural Relations Department, while the delegation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research participating in the project is consisted of the representatives of the universities of Baghdad, Mosul, Middle Technical, Technology, Basra, Al-Karkh for Science, Sumer, Wasit, Basra University for Oil and Gas, Southern Technical University, Al-Qasim Green University along with representatives of the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations.
