The Center for Women’s Studies, in cooperation with the Computer Center at the University of Baghdad, has organized a training course entitled (Community Policing and its Role in Reducing Suicides among Women) that lasted for two days.

On its first day, the course hosted lecturers from community police cadres, the first of whom was the Director of Community Police, Brigadier General Ghaleb al-Attiyah, who addressed during his speech the topic of suicide among women and talked about the causes of suicide, methods of suicide and treatments provided by community police to reach conclusions and recommendations. The second lecture was given by Major Basma al-Zaidi, who dealt with suicides among women in Iraq from the field point of view and treatments and talked about some of the cases dealt with by the community police in the field in Baghdad and other neighboring provinces, and concluded with a lecture delivered by the dean of the center on the topic of “Psychological and Social Factors and Influences Leading to Suicide”.
