On the occasion of the International Day of Non-Violence and within the activities of the Information Resources Center at the General Secretariat of the Central Library, a scientific workshop was held in this regard where a lecture was delivered by Dr. Adnan Yassin who is a faculty member from the department of sociology at the college of education for women , in the presence of a number of employees of the University of Baghdad, a representative of the Department of Women’s Empowerment of the Council of Ministers, Nadia Saleh Jassim, and Alicia Holland, Director of Communications and Marketing at American University of Iraq.
The workshop included a number of axes, most notably violence and its types of physical and verbal violence and moral and psychological violence, and the workshop began by presenting a historical overview of the nature of Iraqi upbringing and violence in dealing with others and the difference between dealing in rural families and urban families and the measure of violence in Iraqi society, so Dr. Adnan Yassin urged to promote the spirit of tolerance in the hearts of children from a young age and spread the spirit of cooperation shared between them because of its impact on the personality when growing up in dealing with others in the community.
