The Department of Petroleum Engineering at the College of Engineering has organized a symposium for students of the third grade on how to get a practical training in foreign companies operating in Iraq. The lecturers were delivered by the head of department Dr. Ghanem Madih Farman and a number of professors during which he explained to the students the importance of summer training as part of the requirements for obtaining the bachelor’s degree.

Then the students of the fourth grade: Yahya Raed Kazim and Mustafa Atheed Abboud clarified how to get opportunities for training in foreign companies and gave a detailed explanation of their summer training at Schlumberger Limited (SLB) as being an oilfield services company. Also the students: Osama Abdul Sattar Khairy and Mohammed Ali Dhiaa Shaker gave an overview of their summer internship at British Petroleum Company operating in Iraq within the Rumaila Oil Field Operation Authority. At the conclusion of this event, the head of the department of petroleum engineering presented certificates of thanks and appreciation to those who have contributed in this event.
