The Baghdad Documentation Department at the Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage, has organized a lecture on the Iraqi National Day in the presence of a number of professors and researchers during the annual celebration on this occasion (October 3, 2022). The lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Liqaa Shaker al-Sharifi entitled (Iraqi National Day: Reasons for Choice).
She talked about the reasons for choosing this day and its historical dimensions and the independence of Iraq from the British Mandate and its accession to the League of Nations, where this independence was 3 October 1932 and this occasion was celebrated for the first time on 3 October 2021, which is considered as an official holiday throughout Iraq based on the resolutions of the Iraqi Constitution. Dr. Ligaa al-Sharifi also stressed the need to print posters dealing with archaeological and civilizational monuments in Iraq and the establishment of national celebrations and events in Iraqi schools and universities in order to promote the spirit of citizenship among people as well as raise the new generation based upon the respect and belonging to the homeland.
