Prof. Dr. Alaa Nafi Jassim, the director of the Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage at the University of Baghdad, accompanied by the Assist. Prof. Dr. Zainab Kamel Karim, the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Arab Scientific Heritage, have participated in the Fourth International Conference sponsored by the College of Basic Education at the University of Mosul, under the slogan: (Historical and Geographical Studies: Tributaries for the Integration of Scientific Research).
They have submitted a joint research paper entitled (The role of the Arabian Gulf and its impact on the civilizational interaction with the East) in which they asserted that the Arabian Gulf is characterized by its distinctive geographical location, as it is the outskirts of the three continents Asia, Africa and Europe and this strategic importance has not been erased by scientific progress in communications or progress in transportation, but the economic strategy next to the geographical location has established that importance, which made this region more open to all civilizations and cultures and a fertile ground for civilizational communication and interaction of all kinds and openness to all civilizations. They added that since we are part of this region, so Iraq with its inherent civilizations is having a great influence on other cultures and civilizations coming from distant ports located at the Arabian Gulf region was affected by what benefits these cultures, and therefore the Arabian Gulf up to this day.
