The Department of Astronomy and Space, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, organized a panel discussion entitled “Courses of the Bonn Climate Change Conference 2022” in the presence of a number of students, researchers and those concerned with remote sensitization, geography and the environment. The participants aimed to highlight what was addressed at this event including the reductions in greenhouse gas emissions from carbon dioxide, methane and other pollutants in the Earth’s atmosphere, as well as the need to maintain a livable climate, and support for the most vulnerable countries affected by the effects of climate change, which are extremely vulnerable.

The panel discussion, which was attended by Prof. Dr. Najat Mohamed Rashid and Dr. Sura Ismail from the University of Baghdad, in addition to Prof. Dr. Oras Mohi Taha who is a lecturer at Al-Karkh University of Science, who discussed the procedures adopted for reaching a more sustainable environment and less carbon-producing path than what is called carbon zero, and the importance of considering the sustainability of land and water and the management of agriculture in a systematic and integrated manner.
